Team Oppo Help Redistribute Surplus Food With City Harvest London

A THIRD OF THE WORLD'S FOOD GOES TO WASTE

As a B Corp, we are using business as a force for good and this includes minimising our own food wastage.

We NEVER throw ice cream away that’s still perfectly good to eat!

Instead, we offer it to redistribution centres like City Harvest who then deliver it onto homeless shelters, soup kitchens, community centres, food banks, children's programmes, schools, centres for the elderly, refugee centres and refuges for women experiencing domestic violence.

Since 2014, City Harvest has rescued 17,666 tonnes of surplus food, delivered 41,842,660 nutritious meals & prevented 67,128 tonnes of GHG emissions.

This month, half the Oppo team headed to one of the City Harvest warehouses in Acton, West London, for the day to offer a helping hand to the many volunteers and staff working together for a sustainable solution to surplus food & food poverty.

5 of the team were based in the warehouse rewrapping pallets, redistributing baby milk formulas, snacks such as cereal bars, bread & bottled drinks into boxes and repacking 3 crates of fresh pears, kiwis & apples into boxes.

2 of the team went out on the road in one of the delivery vans with Marvin the driver to help distribute food boxes around South London including a children's nature garden.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to City Harvest for having us and we can't wait to come back later this year!

At this moment in time, City Harvest are running incredibly low on grocery items such as cans of soup and bags of pasta. If you are able to help in any shape or size, please click here.

LET'S USE BUSINESS AS A FORCE FOR GOOD, TOGETHER.
